For nearly 30 years St. John’s members 50 to 100 years old have enjoyed the friendship of other “Just Over Middle Age” people in the group called JOMAs. What began as a monthly social group that enjoyed fun and fellowship has evolved into a multi-faceted group that includes service and mission-oriented functions as well.

As JOMAs, we enjoy potluck dinners, game nights, ice cream socials, and trips to restaurants; group trips to plays, concerts, sporting events, and Christmas light displays; and many other interesting and exciting events.

But, we are also very proud that our members participate in the extensive mission and service activities at St. John’s. Many of our members actively support and volunteer for community organizations such as Meals on Wheels, the Glen-Ed Pantry, Faith in Action, Hospice and various Edwardsville service clubs.  JOMAs has become an integral part of TWIGs, a summer food distribution program for children in Granite City spearheaded by Pastor Lisa of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Members of JOMAs can feast on a smorgasbord of activities from which they can pick and choose functions to fit individual needs.
